Walk in the Light

“For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light.” — Ephesians 5:8

Lord Jesus has given me the burden to share His work and the power of His Holy Spirit. Can anyone flee from His presence (Psalm 139:7)? Even Adam and Eve could not hide from His presence. In the beginning of 2009, God gave a vision — “To Walk in the Light”. The time has come that the people of God will come out of darkness, out of wrong things, out of sin and addictions, and walk in the light.

Satan cannot destroy our life. The victory belongs to us, and greater is He who is inside us than he who is in the world. Jesus says in Matthew 11:28, “Come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Examine yourself: where are you walking today? As Psalm 1:1 says, “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly.”

I remember the true story of Benjamin Franklin of Philadelphia. The road in front of his house had many pot-holes, and in the dark people would stumble and fall. He placed a pillar with a lamp in front of his house to give light. Though some envied him and broke the lamp with stones, he repaired it again and again. Soon his neighbours began putting lamps in front of their own houses, then the whole street, then the whole city, and the news spread across America — leading to the discovery of the street light.

Just as one Benjamin Franklin brought light to the whole world, you and I can do it too. As Jesus said, “You are the light of this world; a city situated on a mountain cannot be hidden.” In the coming days we will not only walk in the light but also lighten the lives of people who are in darkness.
